| VSNL sells 10% equity in its Sri Lanka subsidiary |

Videsh Sanchar Nigam has sold 1,517,936 shares representing 10% of the paid up capital in its wholly-owned subsidiary VSNL Lanka. The shares have been acquired by Sunshine Holdings PLC, a Sri Lankan conglomerate for about Sri Lankan Rs 75 million.
Sunshine Holdings PLC has interests in pharmaceuticals, travel & tourism, tea & rubber cultivation and managing portfolio investments. Sunshine Holdings PLC has actively supported VSNL Lanka in its growth plans over the last few years.
VSNL Lanka has been offering international voice and data services in Sri Lanka through an external gateway operator's licence since February 2004. VSNL Lanka would continue to play a leading role in the fast growing Sri Lankan market for international voice and data services. |

With the exception of Reliance Communications' GSM segment we have figures of all the leading GSM mobile service providers till the end of November-2007.
- Bharti Airtel added 2.05 mn. Subscriber base at 52.96 mn
- Vodafone India added 1.37 mn. Subscriber base at 38.56 mn
- BSNL added 0.912 mn . Subscriber base at 31.945mn
- Idea Cellular added 0.8mn. Subscriber base at 20.22 mn
- Aircel added 0.5mn. Subscriber base at 9.02 mn
- Spice added mere 91K. Subscriber base at 3.6mn
- MTNL added 63K users. Subscriber base at2.88mn

| 2007 Telecom world awards - VSNL best wholesale carrier. |

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd was named the best wholesale carrier at the 2007 telecoms world awards, Middle East. The award category was open to wholesale telecom providers in wireline, fixed wireless, mobile or converged markets and finalists included Belgacom International Carrier Services, BT Global Services, France Telecom and Tiscall International.
VSNL was chosen as best wholesale carrier by a panel of respected, independent judges based on outstanding performance and uniqueness of offering in areas such as quality, connectivity, global reach, cost and customer care approach, as well as for the company's IP presence in the region. The awards, which were held in conjunction with the 2007. Telecoms world Middle East event in Dubai, honor excellence in the region's telecoms industry.
